Annapolis is the capital city of Maryland, located at the entrance of the Chesapeake Bay.01 It was founded in the mid-1600s and became the temporary capital of the United States after the signing of the Treaty of Paris in 1783. Annapolis is known as the sailing capital of the world and is home to the United States Naval Academy and Saint John's College. It is also the oldest seat of government still in service in America.
